He died on February 21, 1974 in the Baylor Hospital, Dallas, TX and was buried along with his parents, grandparents, great-grandmother, Mary Matilda Ward Burgin (Wife of TDA) and many other relatives in Smith Cemetery, near Hawkins, in Wood County, TX.
