James Albartus (Bud) Burgin, Jr. b. 1859, in AL d. 1928, at Cato. m. Amanda Wylie (or Wiley) b. 1858, d. 1918, both are buried in Oak Bowery Cemetery. (Amanda's father was Cornelius Wiley and mother, Sena, was the daughter of a Cato family for whom the town of Cato in Faulkner County was named. Both the Wiley's and the Cato's were part Cherokee so Amanda was one-half or more Cherokee.) James Jr. had a country store in Saltillo and many acres of land in the area. The family moved to Cato, AR in 1907 where he was partners with a man named Proctor in a country store then opened his own store later. He also bought and farmed the Harrod place at Cato which is the present Burgin Farm on Cato Road (now #148 and #160) (originally called the Mt. Vernon Road).
