Both these gentlemen were Grandpa Joe's brothers. Swatsell was the 10th born son of Merritt Burgin II, Postell was the 6th born and eight years older than grandpa. Swatsell was quite a character. He was married three times - had sixteen children - and was a real "mule skinner". The old timers say that whenever one of his mules became contrary or contankerous, ol' Swatsell would bite the mule's ear to get its attention.Note: Postell was also Larry Burgin's Great Grandfather!
